[:[00:01:13] Damon: JT, and then there's the millionaire, seven figure multi business across the globe. I'm kind of curious to know What it is that you changed about your life that helped you to go from this young guy who was broke and had nothing to, this multiple successful guy,
[:[00:01:32] JT: Let's point that out, dude, just in case for the artist, but not for perspective, but isn't that the whole story of everybody, we all start broke and, we start unknown, we finish unforgettable. And so nobody starts with money. And so I think that's the stage of every entrepreneur. It's the equivalent of a a young bull and an old bear, right? So we start out, we're all young and stuff like that and take on the world. And as we grow older and wiser and more experienced. We're much wiser [00:02:00] and old bear. And so I've been thinking about, you know, at what point should we go back, you know, to the bull part
[:[00:02:25] JT: And a lot of people, they don't have coaches and they're just trying to do everything themselves. and the problem, there is no such thing as a self made man or woman. So people are like, once I'm successful, then I'm gonna have to help. And the reason I don't get the help it's because it costs money.
[:[00:02:38] Damon: yeah, it's a good point. And one of the things that I've always sort of admired about you is here you are nine figures and you don't have to continue to do this, helping people and stuff like this, but you continue to reach back to, young entrepreneurs like myself.
[:[00:02:56] Damon: I
[:[00:03:10] JT: Or now I'm not going to help. And I think that that would hurt a lot more. And I think it wouldn't be in line with this nation of paying it forward. But I love the game, you know what I mean? But you know, sort of businesses war and you either get the customer, you don't get the customer, you get the deal, or you don't get the deal.
[:[00:03:40] Damon: Yeah, action, right? That's one of the things I've definitely taken from you is absolutely apply action.
[:[00:04:01] Damon: How have you pivoted your mindset these days to really focus on developing business, Over real estate. Are you doing mergers and acquisitions?
[:[00:04:18] JT: I mean, most businesses are not sellable. You know, you have to get to a 4 million in EBITDA to sell it to, , over 30 million. And if you get to 10 million, you're probably going to sell it to, for 100 million. But you have to be in a business that somebody else wants to buy you and there's enough room for them to grow.
[:[00:04:48] JT: But those big deals sometimes take a long time. So there's the rabbits versus elephants. So sometimes you need to focus on the first so you can get fed. Then go trying to hunt for the elephant. But if you're trying to go find the elephant and it doesn't work out, you [00:05:00] waste a lot of time.
[:[00:05:02] Damon: What are you doing then for those businesses that are of yours that are based on you, , you're the entrepreneur and the business is based on you. How are you pivoting out to make it more of a non JT business and something that can survive on its own?
[:[00:05:24] JT: That that goes in there, but at the day, when you start off, you have to be the one that drives, you have to be the one that takes the shots. Right. And you have to want the ball.
[:[00:05:38] Damon: If you don't have a brand, you don't have the ability to attract others. Tell me a little bit about what you've been working on in terms of personal. I have a lot of branding
[:[00:05:54] JT: So I have the results, I have the celebrity branding, I have the brand awareness, the brand preference, the brand assistance, the [00:06:00] brand ambassadors, all the levels of branding is was there, but we all start unknown. We need to finish unforgettable. And I think that's the point that I kind of bring up to that point is that if you don't have a brand and you really plan on failing,
[:[00:06:21] JT: All my failures are people like every problem I have as a first name and last name people under promise over delivered.
[:[00:06:42] Damon: What's one, what's one of the ones that hasn't been a first name and last name, one of your own, where you just didn't see around the corner and you're like, damn, I'm always first or last name.
[:[00:07:05] Damon: classic.
